There’s nothing quite like a good book. It can transport you, captivate you, teach you, and — perhaps most importantly these days — offer a much-needed distraction from everyday life.

So we put a call out to our Off the Sidelines candidates: What book — or books — would you recommend to a friend during this challenging time?

We received a ton of responses, from beloved children’s books to powerful non-fiction and just about everything in between. I hope you’ll take a look! (And I would be remiss if I didn’t suggest ordering from your local, independent bookstore if at all possible).

Sending you love and strength,
Kirsten

P.S. For my part, I just picked up The Blessing of Adversity: Finding Your God-given Purpose in Life’s Troubles. Written by U.S. Senate Chaplain Barry Black, it’s a beautiful reminder of how we can all find strength in the midst of life’s storms.
